Office work from a cool greenhouse? The nearest you might get to that could be if you worked for the architectural firm SelgasCano Arquitectos in Madrid, Spain. This office is made of a special tube half-sunk into the ground. The transparent half of the roof is northfacing and shields workdesks from direct sunlight. The translucent half allows the cool shadows of the trees to fall inside. “I love to share the place with the insects and watch their seasonal behaviour,” says Italian architect Paolo Tringali, who’s lucky enough to work there.
