Taking center stage at the moment is an old runway favourite - negative space nails. It’s a fun yet totally chic look that allows clean, un-coloured nails to peep through bold lacquer. From complex cut-outs to simple stokes - the possibilities are endless when it comes to having fun with this trend.

Get the look: Clean, shape and buff your nails. Use a strip of scotch tape to block out a section of each nail. You can do this diagonally, vertically, horizontally - any way you want. Apply two coats of bold nail colour of your choice on the rest of the nail - you can use two or more colours if you’d like. Allow it to dry and then peel off the tape. If you’re confident about pulling off a free hand design, go for it!

The thumbprint eyeliner is sweeping up a storm on the international runway. A quirky take of the classic cat-eye, this trend is graphic, cool and fabulously imperfect. Precision is not the key here, in fact most makeup artistes will agree that the messier the look, the better. It allows plenty of room for experimentation without the stress of nailing those perfect lines.

Get the look: Opt for a gel liner and a rounded eye brush. Prime your eyelids and apply a neutral shade of eyeshadow beneath the brow bone and along the inner corner of your eyes. Apply another shade of your choice along the crease. Sweep your liner across your eyelid the same way you would when doing a classic cat-eye. Use your finger or a brush to drag the colour up and beyond the corner of your eye. Use your pinky to smudge it for the thumbprint effect. Ta-da!

Effortlessly chic, twisted hair tucks are the perfect fit for a sunny day. A fitting look for both long and short hair, you can play around with a variety of styles - from tucked in braids to simple knots. Pair this look with a stunning pair of statement earrings to really make heads turn.

Get the look: Using a comb or your fingers, gently pull your dry or unwashed hair away from your face. Bring the hair together at a point a little above the nape of the neck, like you would for a ponytail. Don’t stress about ensuring that your hair is sleek and smooth, uneven, slightly messy locks add texture to the look. Tightly grip the start of your ponytail and gently twist it. If necessary, use a rubber band to hold it in place. Loop the ponytail around itself, as if you were tying a knot, pull tight and you’re good to go.

Turn up the heat this summer with a gorgeous sun-kissed look. Light and fresh, this look gives off a warm, subtle glow that’s sure to grab eyes.

Get the look: Start with a light base that blends perfectly with your skin tone. Apply bronzer over your cheeks and the bridge of your nose, and blend with a makeup brush. Top off with a cream blush in a tawny or salmon pink shade on your nose and inner cheeks. Team it with peach or brown eyeshadow and nude lipstick or orange lip balm. You’re all set to strut in the sun!

Fun, funky and fabulous, the sequinned eye trend is stirring up quite the storm! From subtly elegant to outrageously wacky, this trend is guaranteed to make your eyes pop. Ideal for a glam night on the town or an evening soirée, it’s definitely a winner when it comes to turning heads.

Get the look: Start off with your base makeup - make sure to keep it light though. Use a highlighter along the side of your face just below the eye and along your cheekbones. Prime your eyes and apply your eyeliner and a nude, peach or light gold shade of eyeshadow, depending on what suits your skin tone best. Appy the sequins in the pattern you desire, it could be a cluster near the corner of your eye, cascading down towards the cheek or even just below the brow - with stick-on sequins available in a variety of shapes and sizes to try out, the fun never stops!

Thick, groomed, face-framing brows are rocking both on and off the runway. Paired with low-key lashes, it offers a natural, fresh look that is subtly stunning.

Get the look: Allow your eyebrows to grow out and shape them along the brow line. Make sure that you don’t trim them too thin. Use an all-in-one brow filler and shaper to add a little volume and definition. Apply a single coat of mascara on your lashes and you’re ready to hit the streets.

Guilty of too many late nights? Your eyes tell all, well at least the puffiness and dark circles do. A simple remedy is opting for undereye masks or patches. Available in several variants, these patches do away with the hassle of full face masks and slip perfectly beneath the eyes. Different types will boast of various benefits but they essentially cool, de-puff and moisturise the skin under your eyes, making it perkier and brighter.

Just pick your favourite variant based on your skin type and specific requirements and place the patches under your eyes, following the instructions on the pack. Keep them on for the recommended time and voilà, you’re ready to step out into the sun sans the concealer.

You’re a pro at juggling several things at a time, and so are your beauty products. One of the most utilitarian beauty trends predicted to dominate through 2018 are multi-tasking products. From products that work as an overnight cream and anti-ageing serum, to SPF equipped moisturizers that double up as a concealer or foundation and even natural oils that work as a leave-in conditioner and moisturizer - these products help you save on time and deliver stunning results too.

Available with all your favourite brands, all you have to do is pick the right product for your skin type and colour, and you’re ready to rock!
