I’m getting married soon and I have tanned skin. Can you please suggest some remedies?

Arya Singh, Delhi

Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30+ daily before stepping out and a depigmenting cream containing ascorbic acid/ kojic acid/ glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid at bedtime. You can also apply yoghurt and tomato juice. Exercise daily for at least an hour to improve blood flow to the skin and reduce stress. Have antioxidant rich food and stay hydrated.

I am 40 years old and the skin on my cheeks has sagged. What can I do to restore its elasticity?

Tia Jain, Mumbai

Our genetic inheritance, weight patterns, nutrition and lifestyle also influence the aging process. Use retinol containing creams to improve fine lines and texture of the skin. But, if the problem is of volume loss, you may need to opt for dermatological treatments like injectable fillers, threads and high intensity focused ultrasound to help restore plumpness.

I never leave my hair open, because it is dry and difficult to manage. Also it doesn’t grow very long. Please suggest some natural remedies.

Simone Mehtani, Delhi

What dry hair needs is conditioning with natural products like egg yolk, honey, olive oil or almond oil. Yoghurt helps make hair soft and lustrous. Honey left on hair for 30 minutes makes it smooth and shiny. In addition to these products, follow a healthy diet full of vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids. Avoiding washing hair with very hot water and brushing wet hair goes a long way in getting healthier, lustrous hair.
