Lokesh Mishra to Head Aldo Busi­ness in In­dia

Aldo Group In­ter­na­tional (AGI) and Ma­jor Brands has ap­pointed Lokesh Mishra as the Busi­ness Head of its In­dia busi­ness for ‘ALDO’ and ‘Call it Spring’ Brands. With the com­pany’s aim of pen­e­trat­ing the In­dian mar­ket ag­gre­sively, Mishra high­lights how his pri­or­i­ties would be broad­ened. “My job would be to go out into the world, meet the cus­tomers, work on the in­te­gra­tion of our ac­qui­si­tions, and so on,” the mav­er­ick in­forms S&A. “The footwear mar­ket in In­dia has a lot of un­ex­ploited prospec­tive and can help us fur­ther re­in­force our busi­ness with Ma­jor Brands. Mov­ing for­ward, our drive is to de­velop a match­less busi­ness which is based on our cus­tomer un­der­stand­ing, deep-rooted val­ues and in­ter­na­tional trends. I cer­tainly be­lieve that we would be the fron­trun­ners in the shoes and ac­ces­sories do­main in the next few years by con­tribut­ing both in terms of num­ber of pairs sold and in value.”

He adds, “I am very ex­cited to join ALDO Group in In­dia as its busi­ness head and look for­ward to work­ing with the global teams to fur­ther en­rich the con­sumer ex­pe­ri­ence on­line and off­line. I have al­ways ad­mired the in­no­va­tion and im­pact Aldo prod­ucts have on peo­ple’s lives and hope I will con­trib­ute to the com­pany’s con­tin­ued suc­cess and lead­er­ship tak­ing the top po­si­tion amongst com­pe­ti­tion.” ALDO Group In­ter­na­tional was formed in 1972, to­day it has pres­ence across more than 200 coun­tries with more than 3000 stores.

Prior to join­ing the group, Mishra was spear­head­ing BIBA and has over 18 years of var­ied ex­pe­ri­ences in de­vis­ing busi­ness plans, re­tail strat­egy, profit cen­ter op­er­a­tions, sales lead­er­ship, mar­ket­ing co­muu­ni­ca­tions, plan­ning and fore­cast­ing. He has worked at top level man­age­ment at Bata , Wood­land , Metro and M& B Footwear and was in­stru­men­tal in suc­cess­fully launch­ing Clarks brand in In­dia. He is one of the most cel­e­brated alu­mini of Footwear De­sign and De­vel­op­ment In­sti­tute (FDDI) and has won var­i­ous in­ter­na­tional awards and ac­co­lades as well in his ten­ure work­ing at var­i­ous or­gan­i­sa­tions. Ma­jor Brands is a lead­ing re­tail com­pany oc­cu­py­ing a re­tail space of over 1,70,000 sqft in ex­ist­ing malls and a premier part­ner for in­ter­na­tional brands such as Aldo, Aldo Ac­ces­sories, Call it Spring , Pro­mod, Charles & Keith, In­glot, La Senza, Bath and Body works, BHPC and New Bal­ance.
