Though Wal-Mart is the world’s largest re­tail chain, Ama­zon.Com has topped the list, leav­ing be­hind Wal-Mart, in con­sumer elec­tron­ics sales and is now eye­ing the ‘Best Buy’ stores. Ama­zon. Com’s to­tal con­sumer elec­tron­ics sales in­creased 4.3% or $5.6 bil­lion in 2015. Shen­zen Dongzheng Op­tics (DZop­tics) an­nounced its first lens, the man­ual fo­cus Ker­lee 35mm f/1.2. This full frame SLR op­tic will be avail­able for Canon FE, Nikon F, Pen­tax K, and Sony FE mounts. Ac­cord­ing to DZOp­tics, it is the world’s fastest full frame SLR 35mm lens. Canon has filed a patent for EF 1000mm f/5.6 IS DO lens. The year 2015 marked the 11th straight year atop the list of Ja­pan-based com­pa­nies awarded with US patents. Though many of these patented prod­ucts may not have a chance to see the day­light, with around 4,134 to­tal patents, Canon stood right be­hind IBM on the list whereas Sam­sung ranked third world­wide. Fu­ji­film North Amer­ica an­nounced the new In­stax Share SP-2 cam­era, that al­lows the user to print out the best credit-card sized smart­phone pic­tures, faster than ever, in high qual­ity. Users can also print the im­ages from their In­sta­gram or Face­book ac­count sim­ply by trans­fer­ring the shots from their apps to SP-2 via Wi-Fi con­nec­tion. OnePlus teamed up with vir­tual re­al­ity spe­cial­ists, An­tVR, to build 30,000 OnePlus Loop VR head­sets and will give them away on first-come, first­serve bases. The move is sim­lar to what the com­pany did in the pre­vi­ous year with its Google Card­board-style VR view­ers, which were de­signed for use dur­ing a spe­cial VR launch event for the OnePlus 2 smart­phone.
