Three Indian Photojournalists Win Pulitzer Prize
Three Indian photojournalists, working with Associated Press agency, namely, Channi Anand, Dar Yasin and Mukhtar Khan have been awarded the 2020 Pulitzer Prize. They won the prize for their coverage of Kashmir, during the lockdown implemented after Article 370 was revoked in the state on August 5, 2019. Aside from these three photojournalists, New Delhi-based photojournalist Anushree Fadnavis was also a recipient of this honour as she was part of the reuters team that was awarded the Pulitzer in the ‘breaking news photography’ category for coverage of the Hong Kong protests.

Channi Anand
Channi Anand is based in Jammu, a strategic location not far from the IndiaPakistan border that experiences frequent cross border violence. He has followed political developments between the neighbours relentlessly for the Associated Press since 2000.
Mukhtar Khan
Mukhtar Khan was born and brought up in Kashmir, where he has lived all his life. In his over two-decade long career, he has extensively covered the region and followed the Kashmir conflict on a daily basis.
Dar Yasin
Dar Yasin was born in 1973, in Kashmir. He studied bachelors in computer science and technology in South of India. Dar has extensively covered the Kashmir conflict, South Asia Earthquake and its aftermath.
