Canon Announces PowerShot Pick AI Camera

recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Makuake, a Japanese crowd-funding site, for its AI-powered camera PowerShot Pick. According to reports, the camera combines Canon’s optical, video processing, and artificial intelligence technology to study a scene, identify the subjects and click multiple snaps. The camera sports a compact and portable body with the option to mount over a Velbon tripod, offered by Canon as a part of the campaign. The device features a 1/2.3-inch 12MP CMOS sensor paired with a 19-57 mm equivalent zoom lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. It comes with inbody image stabilisation, records to a microSD card, measures 90 mm in height and weighs 170 g. The device is designed to automatically click images but can also be manually controlled using voice commands and keywords.
It is scheduled to launch with a smartphone app which will contain features such as sharing options, best photo recommendations etc.
The Canon PowerShot Pick is expected to be priced at USD 400 (for investors only). As of now, no information regarding a global release has been announced by Canon.
