VERDICT

The Canon EOS R5 is the perfect companion for photographers interested in landscapes, portraiture, photojournalism, sports, studio shoots, weddings and videos. The CFexpress card (Type-B) that can be used in the R5, though expensive, is blistering fast and I feel that Canon has taken the right decision in giving us one CFexpress card slot and one SD card slot. The R5 provides extremely sharp images (tested with the RF 50 mm f/1.2 lens) and at the same time, offers unparallelled video quality. There is of course the limitation for how long you can shoot 8K/HQ 4k video before the sensor heats up and stops the recording, but if your video clips are short, or if you shoot video in 4K 30p or with APS-C crop, then the recording time is not limited by heat. All in all, using the R5 is a wonderful experience that will soon offset your feeling of an expensive camera. Best Buy!
