World Press Photo Awards 2021
WINNER: WORLD PRESS PHOTO OF THE YEAR
It is that time of the year press photographers around the world look forward to, and here are the winners
The World Press Photo Foundation recently announced the category winners of the 2021 World Press Photo Contest, selected by an independent jury.
The contest rewards the best visual journalism of the past year in eight categories i.e. Contemporary Issues, Environment, General News, Long-Term Projects, Nature, Portraits, Sports and Spot News. The winners were 45 photographers from 28 countries, namely, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Iran, Ireland, Mexico, Myanmar, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States.
The category winners were announced on April 15, 2021 on World Press Photo’s online channels and the winners of the World Press Photo of the Year, World Press Photo Story of the Year, World Press Photo Interactive of the Year and World Press Photo Online Video of the year were announced at an online Awards Show on the same day.
