Kolkata Based Photographer Awarded ARPS
Anindya Majumdar, an amateur photographer from Kolkata, has been awarded the honour of ARPS (Associate of the Royal Photographic Society) of London. The honour was conferred for his submission of portfolio (in monochrome) based on his several visits to the Himalayan regions over five years to document the influence of trans frontier Tibetan Buddhism on these lands and their people. The portfolio represented the rhythms of the local rural life and that of pastoralist nomads, the lamas (monks), their festivals, and the remote architectures perched amidst high mountains.
