Samsung Launches New Galaxy Device

Samsung has announced the launch of Galaxy M42 5G, a mid-segment 5G device. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G and comes with Game Booster and Frame Booster for ‘advanced gaming performanc­e and lagfree gaming experience’.

It features a 20 MP front camera and a 48MP ISOCELL GM2 sensor on the rear camera that has a resolution of 6000 x 8000 pixels to produce a true 48MP output. The rear camera set up also includes 8MP ultra-wide lens with 123 degrees field of view and a 5MP macro lens. The 5MP depth camera blurs the background and is ideal for portrait shots. The rear camera also supports HDR and 4K video recording @30 fps. Other camera features include single click, Night Mode, Hyperlapse, Super-Slow motion, Scene Optimiser and Flaw Detection. The smartphone comes with a 5000mAh battery and in-box 15W fast charger that reportedly delivers 36 hours of talk time, 22 hours of internet browsing and 34 hours of video play on a single charge. It comes with Samsung Knox, Samsung’s defence-grade security platform, to safeguard personal informatio­n and data in real-time and Samsung Pay (NFC) for contactles­s digital payments. It features Android 11 and supports One UI 3.1 interface.

The device sports a 6.6-inch sAMOLED Infinity-U display and has a prism dot design with a glossy finish. The phone is sleek (8.6 mm thin) and has a 3D design and layered pattern.

The Galaxy M42 5G is available for purchase across Samsung.com, Amazon and select retail stores in Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Grey colours and is priced at INR 21,999 for 6GB + 128 GB variant and INR 23,999 for 8GB + 128 GB variant.
