Tilta’s Canon EOS R5 and R6 Cooling Fans on Sale

-

Tilta has announced a sale on its Canon EOS R5 and R6 cooling fans. According to reports, their cooling cage is a fan mounted on the back of the Canon EOS R5 that helps keep the camera cool while recording video. The final version of the cooling fan is similar to the concept launched by Tilta last year, consisting of thermally conductive silicon, secondary cooling board, cooling chip, alloy heat sink, low noise fan and cooling panel. The fan is powered via USB-C connections on both sides of the unit and attaches to the camera with a pair of screws that can be screwed into the ARCA armature plate adapter or the Tilta EOS R5 and R6 camera frame.

According to Tilta, the 7-blade fan can rotate at up to 5,000 rpm and can be used at both low and high speeds. Tilta claims that the fan is maximal at 30dB. While using the fan, the EOS R5 and R6 cameras are advised to be flipped so as to maximise airflow to the hottest areas of the camera, with the fan as close to the rear as possible. When not in use, the fan can be lowered to fold the screen. The Tilta cooling fan is currently available for order via Tilta’s online store at a price of USD 165. It comes along with a fan, an ARCA mounting plate, a few hex screws to secure the fan and a USB-C cable to power the device via an external battery.
