Tamron Announces Zoom Lens for E-Mount
Tamron has announced the development of a fast-aperture telephoto zoom lens for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, the 35-150 mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058). The lens is expected to launch in 2021 itself.
This is reportedly, Tamron’s first zoom lens for Sony E-mount fullframe mirrorless cameras to have a maximum wide-open aperture of f/2. It comes with a new design, incorporated with the VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism and features a highspeed and high-precision autofocus for a fast-aperture lens.
It supports an array of angles-of-view including wide-angle, standard, medium telephoto and telephoto. This lens is compatible with the new ‘Tamron Lens Utility’ software developed by Tamron and can be operated through your computer by connecting the lens from its Connector Port via the optional Tamron connection cable. Users can customise the functions and update the firmware through the lens rather than through the camera. The personal customisation reportedly gives flexible shooting options to match the shooting situation such as still photography or videography. As of now, no pricing or availability related information has been shared by the company.
