Elinchrom Announces Wireless Monolight
Elinchrom has announced its first wireless (battery-powered) monolight, the Elinchrom One. The flash function in the Elinchrom One is 131 watts and offers fast sync up to 1/7000th of a second in “action” mode. In normal mode, the minimum output flash time is 1/1530s and the maximum output flash time is 1/155s. Flash modes include manual, TTL and HSS (using Transmitter Pro). The colour of the flash at maximum output is 5600K in Normal mode and 5900K in Action mode. According to Elinchrom, the flash colour is stable at +/- 150K. It comes with a modelling lamp that can vary in colour temperature, from 2700K to 6500K, producing an output of 3000 lumens.
The built-in lithium-ion battery reportedly provides up to 725 full power flashes when fully charged. The flash can be recycled in 0.06 seconds with minimum power and in 0.9 seconds with maximum power while the stability of the flash power is +/- 0.5%. It includes a USB-C port which can actively charge the lamp.
The monolight measures 22.5 x 10 x 10 cm and weighs 1.3 kg (without the diffuser and tilt head) while measuring 23 x 16.5 x 10.5 cm and weighing around 1.5 kg when attached to the diffuser and tilt head. The device can be controlled through dials and has a touch interface.
The light is integrated with built-in Skyport for wireless functioning and can be used with 20 channels in 4 groups. When used indoors, the operating range is up to 60 m when paired with the camera using Transmitter Pro and up to 200 m when used outdoors. It also comes integrated with Bluetooth 4.2. Accessories include an OCF adapter, OCF diffuser dome, 65W USB-C wall charger, USB-C cable, one carrying case and a 2 year warranty.
The Elinchrom One is available for pre-order at a suggested retail price of USD 900.
