Venus Optics Expands Laowa Argus Lens Series

Venus Optics has announced the release of the Laowa Argus 35 mm f/0.95 lens for fullframe cameras.

The lens is made of 14 elements in 9 groups, with one aspherical element, one extra-low dispersion element and four ultra-high-refractive elements. It comes with a fifteen blade aperture diaphragm and has an aperture range of f/0.95 through f/16. It features a minimum focussing distance of 50 cm and has a 72 mm front filter thread.

The lens’ aperture ring click switch enables users to ‘de-click’ the aperture when required. The company reports that the lens inherits the internal focussing mechanism of the Argus 33 mm f/0.95 CF APO, which helps in preventing movement caused by external factors while focussing, and has minimal focus breathing. The Laowa Argus 35 mm f/0.95 FF lens for Canon RF, Nikon Z and Sony E mount camera systems is available for purchase on Venus Optics’ official website as well as authorised resellers at a price of USD 899.
