ProGrade Announces CFexpress Type-A Card

ProGrade has recently announced the launch of the CFexpress Type-A Cobalt, a new lineup of SD cards.

According to ProGrade, even though the CFexpress Type-A format is smaller and up to three times faster than the other SD cards, the format had not been able to make its mark, because, not only is it more expensive than the other SD cards, but, its media slot is only supported by some Sony cameras. Reports suggest that the new card delivers VPG 400 performance (i.e. sustained write speeds of ‘at least’ 400MB/s) and maximum write speeds of 700MB/s.

The ProGrade CFexpress Type-A Cobalt card (160GB) is available for pre-order on ProGrade’s official website at a price of USD 330.
