AvTvISO Celebrates World Photography Day
AvTvISO, an ILFIAP Club from India, celebrated World Photography Day by inviting photographers to gift a frame (preferably a portrait), to the same person (subject) in the frame.
The club reported that, this initiative was taken by them in an effort to show their appreciation and give back to the thousands of people who still do not possess any photographs of themselves. 12 photographers came forward and gifted more than 100 framed photographs to the people they have taken photographs of in the past. The experience was new for the people and photographers alike. The photographers from various cities across India that participated in the event are Abha Rai, Dipankar Datta Roy, Dr. Anirban Banerjee, Kumaraguru Palaniappan, Maheswaran Karthikyan, Manabendra Bhattacharjee, Mohan S., Ramnath Banerjee, Sadiqur Rahman, Shivendra Rai, Subhasis Dutta and Udayan Sankar Pal. These photographers received a certificate of appreciation from AvTvISO signed by Joan Burguès Martisella, Vice President, FIAP.
This event was also recognised as an “Auspices De La FIAP” event by the International Federation of Photographic Art. The club says that it hopes that the initiative will inspire others to gift a print/frame to many other underprivileged people, giving them immortality by virtue of a photograph.
