Viltrox Unfolds New Lenses for Sony E-mount and Nikon Z-mount

Viltrox has announced the release of two new lenses, viz. a 35 mm f/1.8 autofocus lens for Sony E-mount cameras and a 50 mm f/1.8 autofocus lens for Nikon Z-mount and Sony E-mount cameras. The 35 mm f/1.8 autofocus lens was initially released in September, 2021 for Nikon Z-mount camera systems. Its optical construction consists of 10 elements in 8 groups, including 2 extra-low dispersion elements, 2 aspherical elements and 2 high-refractive index elements. It comes with a 9-blade aperture diaphragm, has an aperture range of f/1.8 through f/16 and features a minimum focussing distance of 40 cm.

The E-mount version of the lens also comes with a chip that enables it to transfer EXIF and autofocus information to the camera. It features a micro USB port on the rear mount of the lens for uploading all future firmware updates. The lens measures 70 mm in diameter, 90 mm in length and weighs 370 g. The new 50 mm f/1.8 autofocus lens for Nikon Z-mount and Sony E-mount shares a similar visual design as the aforementioned 35 mm f/1.8. Its optical construction consists of 11 elements in 10 groups, including 1 extra-low dispersion (ED) element, 2 high-refractive index elements and 2 aspherical elements. The lens features a minimum focussing distance of 55 cm, has a 55 mm front filter thread and sports an aperture range of f/1.8 through f/16.

It comes with an integrated micro USB port for updating the firmware and the lens measures 70 mm in diameter, 88.2 mm in length and weighs approximately 350 g.
