Tokina Unmasks Fisheye Lens for APS-C Cameras

Tokina has announced the release of SZ 8 mm f/2.8 fisheye lens for Fujifilm X and Sony E-mount APS-C camera systems. The fully manual lens is a compact, lightweight, ultra-wide prime and full-frame fisheye lens that measures 60 mm in diameter, 52 mm in length and weighs 280 g. Reports suggest that the lens incorporates ‘exclusive’ multi-coated optical elements for effective light intake, has a minimum focussing distance of 10 cm, adopts a detachable hood for compatibility with full-frame mirrorless cameras, features a 7 blade aperture diaphragm and comes with an aperture range of f/2.8 – f/22 with a clickless aperture ring for smooth operation in video shooting.

While no pricing related information has been shared by the company so far, the lens is expected to start shipping from March 15, 2022.
