Sigma Expands I Series Line-up
Sigma has announced the upcoming release of the 20 mm f/2 DG DN | Contemporary lens, a part of Sigma’s I series.
This ultra-wide prime lens is compatible with 62 mm threaded front filters and has a 9-blade rounded diaphragm. It boasts an exceptionally small form factor, weighing in at 370 g and measuring 72.4 cm in length. It has a sleek, all-metal design, with the signature I series magnetic lens cap and a manual aperture ring.
The lens’ optical construction includes 13 elements in 11 groups, including three highprecision glass-moulded aspherical lens elements, one SLD element and one FLD element to suppress a range of optical aberrations. The lens features Super
Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating (NPC) to reduce flare and ghosting. It has an all-metal construction, giving the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, with durability. The cover ring between the focus ring and the aperture ring has hairline processing that is also used for the rear cylinder of the Art line. This covering functions as a finger hold when attaching or detaching the lens. Additional features include Petal-type lens hood, support for switching between linear and non-linear focus ring settings (for L-Mount only) and compatibility with Sigma USB DOCK UD-11 (sold separately / for L-Mount only). The Sigma 20 mm f/2 DG DN | Contemporary lens will be available across Sigma authorised dealers at a retail price of USD 699, starting February 25, 2022.
