Venus Optics Creates Macro APO Lens

Venus Optics has announced the Laowa 85 mm f/5.6 2x Ultra Macro APO lens for L-mount camera systems. It features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic and can focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity, weighs 259 g and measures 53 mm in diameter and 81 mm in length. It has a minimum focussing distance of 16.3 cm, a 46 mm front filter thread, a 7-blade aperture diaphragm and an aperture range of f/5.6 – f/22. The optical design of the lens includes 13 elements in 9 groups, including 3 extralow dispersion elements.
