Tokina Unfurls Prime Lens
This Year’s Theme: Joy
Tokina has announced the release of the SZ 33 mm f/1.2 manual prime lens for Fuji X and Sony E (APS-C) camera mounts. The lens comes with a 50 mm full-frame equivalent focal length and uses a 62 mm front filter thread. Its optical design consists of 9 elements in 7 groups and the elements come with multi-coatings. It sports an 11 blade aperture diaphragm, features an aperture range of f/1.2 through f/16 and has a minimum focussing distance of 50 cm. Both versions of the lens come with a clickless aperture ring for ‘smooth adjustment’, with the body measuring 71 mm in diameter, 87.5 mm in length and weighing 605 g.
The Fujifilm X-mount and Sony E-mount version of Tokina SZ 33 mm f/1.2 lens are available for purchase at a price of USD 399 (approx. INR 31,000).
HOW TO ENTER
Entrants should provide 5-8 photographs on the theme of ‘Joy’. All entries must be in digital format (camera or scanned film originals) and must be taken by you for the purposes of this competition. Existing portfolios are excluded.
NATIONAL DEADLINE: MAY 1ST 2022
All entries must be received by this date. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes will be chosen by the editorial staff of Smart Photography and the National results will be published in the June issue.
INTERNATIONAL JUDGING: JUNE 2022
The winning entries from each of the 16 participating EISA countries will then be judged together at the Association’s General Meeting in June 2022. The final results of the International Maestro contest will be revealed at the EISA Awards Gala on Sept 2nd 2022 or, if circumstances are less favourable, online alongside the EISA product Awards on Aug 15th 2022
