7artisans Reveals Rangefinde­r Lens

7 artisans recently announced a 28 mm f/5.6 manual prime lens for Leica M-mount camera system. The company says that the lens was designed specifical­ly for street photograph­y, focussing on “capturing the decisive moment with hyperfocal focussing.” The lens’ optical design is made up of 6 elements in 6 groups, including 1 highrefrac­tive element and 2 extra-low dispersion elements. It is a rangefinde­rcoupled lens and features an infinity lock that is used for locking the focus at infinity. It sports a clicked aperture ring along with a focus ring with knurled grip. Other key features include a 35.5 mm front filter thread, a minimum focussing distance of 1 m, an 8-blade aperture diaphragm that forms a petal shape when stopped down and an aperture range of f/5.6 to f/22.

The lens measures 38 mm in diameter, 44 mm in length and weighs 130 g. It is entirely constructe­d of metal. The 7artisans 28 mm f/5.6 Leica M-mount lens is available for purchase on its official website at a price of USD 299 (approx. INR 23,000).
