7artisans Reveals Rangefinder Lens
7 artisans recently announced a 28 mm f/5.6 manual prime lens for Leica M-mount camera system. The company says that the lens was designed specifically for street photography, focussing on “capturing the decisive moment with hyperfocal focussing.” The lens’ optical design is made up of 6 elements in 6 groups, including 1 highrefractive element and 2 extra-low dispersion elements. It is a rangefindercoupled lens and features an infinity lock that is used for locking the focus at infinity. It sports a clicked aperture ring along with a focus ring with knurled grip. Other key features include a 35.5 mm front filter thread, a minimum focussing distance of 1 m, an 8-blade aperture diaphragm that forms a petal shape when stopped down and an aperture range of f/5.6 to f/22.
