Tribals of India Show in Oct
Bipin Christian, a photographer from Gujarat, is conducting a solo show abroad with help of the Govt of Gujarat Lalit Kala Academy on November 10 to 13. He has organised a preview show titled ‘Tribals of India’ in Ahmedabad from the 7th to 9th of October 2022 at Ravishankar Art Gallery. The event is partly sponsored by the Gujarat government. “Today, we are celebrating “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” in the 75th year of independence. On the occasion, we remember the glorious history, unique culture and achievements of the people of India.
We are proud that such a great culture has been preserved in various provinces and states of Greater India, of which I am a witness. I have had the opportunity to draw/click portraits of people in their distinctive culture, charms and natural fabrics through my camera,” says Bipin. “I have attended various folk fairs in Kutch, Gujarat, Western India and I have had the opportunity to capture their culture and habitat through my camera. I have travelled in India from north to south and from east to west. During my visits to various places, I have taken portrait photographs of people. And here I am presenting portraits of people depicting the culture of great India.”
The exhibition depicts tribal portraits in the form of digital paintings, and includes 645 tribes from across India.
