Hari Mahidhar No More
Renowned photographer Hari Mahidhar, who mentored and inspired many popular photographers, breathed his last on the 17th of October. We at Smart Photography, join the photography community in mourning his irreparable loss.
Hari Mahidhar, popularly known as Haribhai, was born on 8th September 1942 in Mandvi, Kutch, Gujarat. He started with photography in 1964. He began his career as a press photographer for a Hindi daily at Jabalpur and assisted the late industrial photographer Mitter Bedi from 1967 – 1969. He specialised in advertising, audio visuals and also in commercials. He served as the head of the photography department at Sistas Advertising from 1973-1978.
Mahidhar pursued corporate photography for major pharmaceutical companies, power plants, airports, and also did aerial photography for several entities including the Indian Navy. He conducted several photography workshops in India and abroad and was the brand ambassador for Sony India.
