One For The Top Cops

This investigative journalist is probably the only one who has interviewed Dawood Ibrahim. Hussain Zaidi has fearlessly followed the Mumbai underworld for decades. His books on the Mumbai mafia have not only been adapted on screen by filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Sanjay Gupta and Kabir Khan, he has also got kidnapped in Iraq for his unabashed unearthing of the dark underbelly of Mumbai gangsters. The noted crime writer has churned out bestsellers like Black Friday, Dongri to Dubai, Mafia Queens of Mumbai and Byculla to Bangkok. And his new book Eleventh Hour is another thrilling account now on stands, definitely the one a crime fiction junkie shouldn’t give a miss. Although the book is a fiction, the events are inspired by the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai with Superintendent of Police, Vikrant Singh as its main protagonist. By the author’s own admission, the men in uniform have been his inspiration for the book and is dedicated to policemen and intelligence sleuths. In the world of investigative and crime literature, Zaidi has his own legion of fans. And it’s only a matter of time that we would watch Eleventh Hour on screen.
