GJSCI To Identify Candidate for 43rd WorldSkills Jewellery Competition
The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) has been mandated by the Government of India to identify and select a candidate to represent the country at the WorldSkills International (formerly known as Skill Olympics) event in Sao Paulo, Brazil in August.
Held every two years, young skilled people test themselves against demanding international standards at the WorldSkills Competion. They represent the best of their peers drawn from regional and national skill competitions held currently in 67 countries and regions.
The GJSCI will conduct four regional competitions in Kolkata (June 11-13), Thrissur (June 16-18), Jaipur (June 23-25) and Mumbai (June 30-July 2) to shortlist the best candidates to compete in the India Jewellery Skill Finals.
The final event will be held at the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) from July 17-21, 2014 in which 8 regional winners will compete to represent India at the next WorldSkills Competition to be held in August 2-15 in Sao Paulo.
