GJSCI To Iden­tify Can­di­date for 43rd WorldSkill­s Jew­ellery Com­pe­ti­tion

The Gem & Jew­ellery Skill Coun­cil of In­dia (GJSCI) has been man­dated by the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia to iden­tify and se­lect a can­di­date to rep­re­sent the coun­try at the WorldSkill­s In­ter­na­tional (for­merly known as Skill Olympics) event in Sao Paulo, Brazil in Au­gust.

Held ev­ery two years, young skilled peo­ple test them­selves against de­mand­ing in­ter­na­tional stan­dards at the WorldSkill­s Com­petion. They rep­re­sent the best of their peers drawn from re­gional and na­tional skill com­pe­ti­tions held cur­rently in 67 coun­tries and re­gions.

The GJSCI will con­duct four re­gional com­pe­ti­tions in Kolkata (June 11-13), Thris­sur (June 16-18), Jaipur (June 23-25) and Mum­bai (June 30-July 2) to short­list the best can­di­dates to com­pete in the In­dia Jew­ellery Skill Fi­nals.

The fi­nal event will be held at the In­dia In­ter­na­tional Jew­ellery Show (IIJS) from July 17-21, 2014 in which 8 re­gional win­ners will com­pete to rep­re­sent In­dia at the next WorldSkill­s Com­pe­ti­tion to be held in Au­gust 2-15 in Sao Paulo.
