Attracts Buyers From New Markets
he Gold/Italy event held from October 25-27 showcased Made in Italy jewellery, gold and bijoux at the Arezzo Fiere e Congressi convention centre, Arezzo, Italy.
The show, which served as an avenue to bridge supply and demand, had 220 exhibiting companies from the main Italian gold districts. They met buyers, wholesalers, retailers, chain stores, importers and exporters from Italy and over 50 other countries, including firsttime visitors from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and other states. This was made possible due to the participation of Regione Toscana and Toscana Promozione, the Arezzo Chamber of Commerce and ITA– Italian Trade Agency for the promotion of Italian companies abroad and their internationalisation.
Andrea Boldi, president of Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, and Beppe Angiolini artistic director, were present at the opening ceremony that was a small affair, thus stressing the spirit of practicality which defines the essence of this show.
“In a market where the dynamics are becoming increasingly complex at a global level,” said Boldi, “it is essential to focus on the only objective that really counts: creating the conditions so that exhibiting companies can approach markets, both traditional and new, by intercepting changes in demand and favouring contact between those who sell and those who buy. I believe that this is the main function of a trade fair and with Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, we intend to constantly strengthen this commitment.”
From this edition, the Arezzo Fiere e Congressi proposed two new projects aimed at creating a conducive atmosphere to conduct business. One was the exclusive ‘meeting club’ for 240 top buyers from 50 different countries to preview products and company profiles before setting up the meetings.
The second project introduced at the show was the “Retail Italy Project” devised and supported by Arezzo Fiere e Congressi to further enhance business prospects of exhibitors. Over 160 selected retailers were invited to visit the fair and meet the participating companies. The project will continue post the show all throughout the year in order to provide, facilitate and assist buyers and exhibitors to strengthen business ties.
