Jacques Korn Elected President Of Antwerp Diamond Bourse
The Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel) has made two new appointments to its board of directors. Jacques Korn has been elected president, and Rajender Gahani has been elected executive director. Members of the board are elected for a four-year period.
Korn has been in the Antwerp diamond business for 40 years, and previously held the position of executive director of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse. He has also been on the Antwerp World Diamond Centre’s board of directors since 2010.
Founded on June 7 1904 by Antwerp diamond merchants keen to move their diamond dealing from café Petit Duc, conveniently located on the street next to Antwerp Central railway station, to a more secure and structured place of business, the Antwerp Diamond Bourse has contributed its own rich, 110-year chapter to the 550-year history of diamonds in the city.
