Bangladesh star Mushfiqur Rahim has been dropped from the T20I squad

for the threematch series against Pakistan. The selectors termed the omission as “rest” but it is believed that the batter missed the bus due to poor form in recent times.

Mushfiqur, who has not been dropped once in the past few years, had a quiet T20 World Cup where he scored only one fifty against Sri Lanka, that too in a losing cause.

The seasoned campaigner has plenty of time to set things right before the Test matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. But he is visibly upset with the selectors for not revealing the real reason behind their decision. “I was asked if I was available, to which I said, of course, I am available. But I was told that the selection committee, team management, head coach and team director took a collective decision to drop me,” he was quoted as saying to Channel 24.
