BCCI raises monthly pension amount for former cricketers
The BCCI has raised the amount received per month as pension by former cricketers and match officials — men and women.
Former India players who retired before December 31, 1993 and played more than 25 matches will now receive ₹70,000 per month as pension (a ₹20,000 hike). First-class cricketers who played more than 75 matches till the 2003-04 season will receive ₹52,500 (a ₹22,500 hike), those who played 50 to 74 matches will receive ₹45,000 (a ₹22,500 hike), and those who played 25 to 49 matches will receive ₹30,000 (a hike of ₹15,000).
Earlier, women cricketers who played 10 or more Tests received ₹22,500 per month and those who played five to nine Tests received ₹15,000 per month. But now, that fee structure has also been revised (₹45,000 and ₹30,000).
Meanwhile, National Cricket Academy coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule and Munish Bali will be part of the India support staff for its tour of Ireland. V. V. S. Laxman will serve as head coach.
