NBA to retire Bill Russell's No. 6 jersey

Bill Russell's No. 6 jersey will be permanently retired throughout the NBA. Players who currently wear No. 6 — including the Los Angeles Lakers’ Lebron James — could continue doing so. But the number would not be issued again, the league said.
