In seventh heaven:
India notched up its seventh bilateral T20I series win in 2022 after beating South Africa 2-1 in what was the team’s final dress rehearsal ahead of the T20 World Cup later this month. However, a target of 228 proved too steep for the Men in Blue in the final T20I as South Africa registered a 49-run consolation win. With K. L. Rahul and Virat Kohli rested, Rishabh Pant’s 14-ball 27, Dinesh Karthik (46, 21b, 4x4, 4x4) and Deepak Chahar 31(17b, 2x4, 3x6) entertained briefly but couldn’t take India over the line.
