JET AIR­WAYS INDUCTS THE NEW BOE­ING 737 MAX

Full ser­vice In­dian car­rier Jet Air­ways has be­come the first air­line in In­dia to op­er­ate the new Boe­ing 737 MAX. The car­rier took de­liv­ery of the first 737 MAX 8 in the third week of June this year and has or­dered a to­tal of 150 jets of the new­est model of the Boe­ing 737, the world’s most pop­u­lar jet­liner. The Boe­ing 737 MAX de­vel­oped in re­sponse to the Air­bus A320­neo, is pow­ered by the CFM LEAP-1B en­gine and fea­tures tech­nol­ogy im­prove­ments such as the dual ad­vanced tech­nol­ogy wing-tips, en­gine chevrons and some other fea­tures. Th­ese help to sig­nif­i­cantly im­prove fuel ef­fi­ciency by up to 14 per cent. Jet Air­ways al­ready op­er­ates In­dia’s largest fleet of Boe­ing 737s with all three vari­ants of the cur­rent gen­er­a­tion, the 737-700, -800 and -900ER.
