FIRST GREEN ALH DHRUV MK-III FOR IN­DIAN COAST GUARD

The first green he­li­copter for the In­dian Coast Guard (ICG) has com­pleted the in­stal­la­tion of ba­sic sys­tems and had a suc­cess­ful maiden ground run on June 29, 2018. Ra­jen­dra Singh, Di­rec­tor Gen­eral ICG, re­ceived the con­tract doc­u­ments from T. Su­varna Raju, CMD, HAL. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, Raju said that it was for the first time that HAL had en­tered into a con­tract with ICG that in­cludes Per­for­mance Based Lo­gis­tics (PBL) sup­port af­ter the de­liv­ery of heli­copters for five years. The cer­ti­fied he­li­copter de­liv­er­ies are sched­uled to com­mence from 2020 on­wards. In March 2017, HAL had signed a con­tract worth around ` 5,126 crore for the sup­ply of 16 ALH Dhruv heli­copters (Fixed Wheel) to ICG in a five-year time­frame.
