UN PEACE KEEP­ING TRAIN­ING TO MYAN­MAR ARMED FORCES BY IN­DIAN ARMY

A four mem­ber In­dian Army Del­e­ga­tion ar­rived at Nayp­itaw in Myan­mar to im­part­ing train­ing on UN Peace­keep­ing Op­er­a­tions to Myan­mar Army. The train­ing will be con­ducted over two weeks from 05-16 Feb 2018. This is the fourth edi­tion of such train­ing event. The two weeks cap­sule aims at cov­er­ing nu­ances of United Na­tions de­ploy­ment and op­er­a­tions, with an ob­jec­tive to en­hance Myan­mar Army’s ca­pac­ity to­wards un­der­tak­ing United Na­tions as­sign­ments in near fu­ture. In the re­cent past, con­duct of joint train­ing has been a ma­jor event of ini­tia­tives aimed at fostering bet­ter ties with coun­tries in In­dia’s im­me­di­ate neigh­bor­hood. The In­dian Army’s rich ex­pe­ri­ence as part of United Na­tions Force, span­ning al­most seven decades and its pro­fes­sional ap­proach in UN peace­keep­ing brings in qual­ity and value to such train­ing.
