It’s A Cakewalk!

The Mont­calm Ho­tel in Lon­don went all filmi when eter­nal dream girl Hema Malini un­veiled the poster of her daugh­ter Esha Deol Takhtani’s first short film, Cakewalk, directed by Ram Kamal Mukher­jee. The event was or­ga­nized by Magna Pub­lish­ing at Mont­calm Ho­tel in Lon­don. Present at the event were Mr Nari Hira, Chair­man, Magna Pub­lish­ing Ltd, the gor­geous Hema Malini, ac­tor Esha Deol Takhtani and di­rec­tor Ram Kamal Mukher­jee. A life-size poster was un­veiled on the oc­ca­sion in the pres­ence of the in­ter­na­tional me­dia and global del­e­gates. Cakewalk marks the re­turn of Esha on the sil­ver screen af­ter a brief hia­tus and it is a 22-minute short film about a chef who is shown to be balanc­ing her pro­fes­sional and per­sonal life. On ask­ing the Dhoom ac­tor about her char­ac­ter in the film, she averred, “I know many girls in gen­eral and many of my friends who have sit­u­a­tion like Shilpa, my char­ac­ter in the film. Cakewalk shows that we women can have the best of both worlds. It’s a very emo­tional film for me.” Ram, who de­buts as a di­rec­tor with this short film, had also au­thored Hema Malini’s au­tho­rized bi­og­ra­phy Be­yond The Dream­girl. When asked about the short film, he quipped, “I al­ways wanted to work with Esha be­cause she is a pow­er­house of ta­lent and I would give en­tire credit to her for be­stow­ing faith in me and my team.” The short film Cakewalk is sched­uled for a world­wide re­lease this Au­gust.
