Smart City Bhubaneswar, also the host city of Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup is all set to tran­scend its ‘Tem­ple City’ tag with one of In­dia’s big­gest City Fes­ti­val ti­tled – Bhubaneswar Dot Fest. The in­au­gu­ral City Fes­ti­val will take place from 1st to 16th De­cem­ber and will pro­pel the city into an ex­clu­sive list of must visit food, sto­ry­telling, art and en­ter­tain­ment fes­ti­val des­ti­na­tions in the coun­try. As a mir­ror for the vis­i­tors from all across the globe, .FEST will put on dis­play the grandeur of Food, En­ter­tain­ment, Sto­ries and Trails that com­poses Bhubaneswar. This will pro­vide a won­der­ful op­por­tu­nity for the tourists to in­ter­act and en­gage them­selves with the re­splen­dent cul­ture and his­tory that the city has at its dis­posal.

Odisha Tourism, host part­ner of the Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 is all set for its mar­quee five-day long 29th Konark Dance Fes­ti­val and In­ter­na­tional Sand Art Fes­ti­val from De­cem­ber 1 to 5. An an­nual fête of In­dian clas­si­cal dances, the Konark Fes­ti­val is one of the big­gest dance fes­ti­vals in the coun­try, bring­ing cham­pi­ons of all clas­si­cal and tra­di­tional dance forms to­gether to dis­play their skill and mas­tery in this five days cul­tural ex­trav­a­ganza rang­ing from age-old dance forms such as the clas­sic Bharat­natyam, the grace­ful Odissi, the ex­pres­sive Kuchipudi, lilt­ing Mo­hini­at­tam, rhyth­mic Ma­nipuri and the stat­uesque Kathak dance styles. Since 1989, the Konark Fes­ti­val has been draw­ing tourist, dance and mu­sic lovers alike to the sandy shores of Konark ev­ery year. This year, tourists will en­joy the cul­tural evenings sched­uled at the spe­cially de­signed open-air au­di­to­rium near the iconic Sun tem­ple. Each evening will show­case two dance forms. Odissi dance would be the in­au­gu­ral pre­sen­ta­tion, while the sec­ond dance would be from Bharat­natyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi or Sat­triya. The Hockey Men’s World Cup will fur­ther be pro­moted dur­ing the paint­ing and hand­i­craft ex­hi­bi­tions at the In­ter­na­tional Sand Art Fes­ti­val, to be held at the pris­tine Chan­drab­haga sea beach. Pad­mashree Su­dar­shan Pat­naik, brand am­bas­sador of the In­ter­na­tional Sand Art Fes­ti­val and many renowned sand artists and sculp­tors from abroad will par­tic­i­pate in the event this year as well.
