Viet Vuong, a two- decadeold Vietnamese garment firm, has adopted the Evolve software of Fast React Systems in its attempt to transform to ‘smart factory’.

The system is expected to go live in the first quarter of 2018.

Over the last few years, Viet Vuong had invested in technologies like ERP as well as a hanging conveyor production system with real-time production data collection. However, with gaps still persisting, the company decided to adopt ‘ Evolve’.

Substantiating further, Bao Nguyen Vinh, Director, Viet Vuong underlined that in the fast- changing market, customers are expecting factories to not only reduce cost but also to provide quick response programmes, therefore a smart factory will help different departments in the company connect into one operation.

The Director further added that the Fast React Systems, which is now a part of Coats Global Services, understands the industry and its challenges well and thus its knowledge combined with the proven record of the Evolve software can surely offer better solutions to the company.

Once the software is implemented, the communication and coordination is expected to be enhanced between various departments. The staff will not only be able to see all the information but also all the possible bottlenecks so that plans can be accordingly worked out.

“Studying and resolving the problems will help in fixing the line idling and will help us enhance efficiency and work smartly,” added Vinh.

Viet Vuong, which manufactures sportswear and leisurewear among other products, has today expanded to three factories in HCM City and has a strength of 3,000 people.

In the fast changing market, a smart factory will help different departments in the company connect into one operation.
