With a few days away, the combined tradeshow ITMA Asia + CITME is all set to witness enthusiastic response of the global textile industry. Scheduled from October 15-19, 2018, the exhibition will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre ( NECC) in Shanghai, China. Considered as one of the largest technology events, this is being jointly organised by the Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co. Ltd. and ITMA Services. In addition, the Japan Textile Machinery Association (JTMA) will also be the partner of the show.

Earlier the show was scheduled to be held in February this year but due to a new national initiative in China back then, the scheduling of all events including ITMA Asia + CITME was affected.

During the 5- day long event, the focus of the exhibitors will remain on the showcase of cuttingedge solutions. More than 1,700 exhibitors will cover around 170,000 square metres of exhibition space. Approximately 100,000 visitors are expected to visit the show from all across the world. According to the event organisers, the major categories of exhibits will include - Spinning, weaving and texturing; Nonwovens; Braiding; Research and innovation; Weaving; Knitting and hosiery; Garment manufacturing and embroidery; Printing; Equipment for plant ops, logistics, services for textile industry, software and testing; and Colourants, chemicals, finishing and recycling.

Of all the participants, the Chinese exhibitors have booked the largest area of floor space this year, followed by exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Japan and Switzerland. Spinning machinery is the largest exhibitor sector followed by finishing and dyeing, knitting, weaving and nonwovens.

As China’s textile industry continues its transformation, the demand for advanced machinery and technology is on the rise. This is pushing the technology suppliers to come up with their innovative offerings in the country. Major exhibitors who will mark their presence with their state- of-the-art and cutting edge technologies during the show are: Rieters, Karl Mayer, Groz Beckert, Stoll, Staubli, Mayer & Cie, Monforts, Thies, Shima Seiki, Jeanologia and Santex. It’s worth noting here that the show owners namely the European Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association ( CEMATEX) along with the Chinese Association SubCouncil of Textile Industry ( CCPIT-Tex); China Textile Machinery Association ( CTMA); and China Exhibition Centre Group Corp. ( CIEC) are overwhelmed seeing the massive response from the apparel and textile industry.

“We had a long waiting list for space by the deadline for applications. Therefore, we made the decision to book the additional space available in the venue,” said Wang Shutian, President, CTMA.

According to Fritz P. Mayer, President, CEMATEX, the combined exhibition ( ITMA + CITME) has continued to garner strong interest of the industry. “It proves that our exhibition is the industry- leading platform in Asia for textile machinery manufacturers to showcase a wide spectrum of cutting- edge solutions,” commented Mayer.

During the 5-day long event, the focus of the exhibitors will remain on the showcase of cutting-edge solutions. More than 1,700 exhibitors will cover around 1,70,000 square metres of exhibition space.
