India: AMHSSC provides employment to 32 candidates out of its 53 certified trained individuals
India’s Apparel, Made-Ups Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) has trained 53 candidates with the CSR funds of the country’s largest General Insurance Company: New India Assurance.
Notably, AMHSSC has been established by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India and National Skill Development Corporation to develop skills repository for Apparel Value Chain, National Occupational Standards in the industry, further establishing an organised Sector Specific Labour Market Information System. It also aims to improvise the training delivery value chain, along with the third-party assessments and certifications.
Additionally, with a goal to develop the skill repository for the apparel sector, AMHSSC has again fetched an excellent figure in terms of candidate placement. Under the guidance of AMHSSC, Wazir, a certified training partner of the Council, has given quality skill training to 53 candidates. Out of these 53 candidates, 17 candidates are successfully placed from batches 1 & 2, while. 15 others are on their way to start their own tailoring business. The Council has also been given an assertive goal of certifying over 2 million people in the next 3-4 years in skill courses for the apparel sector. It is leading the initiative by taking part in the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) as well as various schemes of different states that include the nonPMKVY policy.
The Council has collaborated with New India Assurance to provide training on Sewing Machine Operators, Self Employed Tailor job roles to the younger generation in the region. After successfully assessing, it has certified 53 candidates recently.
