USA: 3DLOOK releases advanced 3D model generation SAIA 3D to deal with fit issues

3DLook, the pioneer of mobile scanning technology, has announced the release of upgraded 3D body model generation, SAIA 3D V2.0. The new development will help the online brands and retailers to provide a seamless shopping experience to their customers by providing them the perfect size products. This will also help them with the reduced return rate.

This development is a step towards the mission to amass the largest dataset of human body models and measurements in the world.

The revolutionary update in SAIA 3D, generates 3D body models from two-front and side-facing photo of the consumers, taken by any smartphone device. The version 2.0 gives more accurate and realistic 3D models which can also be textured; this new approach also reduces the computation time of the 3D model generation.

The new platform incorporates a flexible API, mobile SDK and personal accounts for each client enabling them to create 3D models for their customers. The data of these models are then analysed which accurately captures sizing trends, market segments and analytics about their actual customers.

Moreover, the company has made its avatars ready for animation, a process known as rigging, targeted for retailers and brands of athleisure, athletics and virtual dressing. For this, the company has partnered with CLO, a leading provider of software solutions for virtual garment rendering, and has also built a virtual try- on solution so that the consumers can visualise how a product looks on them in 3D or Augmented reality (AR) before purchase.

“Understanding a consumer’s unique body data is the first step to understand what the consumer might actually want to buy. The online shopping experience is going to look very different in the next few years. Companies like Amazon are already working on their own solutions while other online retailers will have to look for opportunities to compete against the corporation. I’m glad that we are part of this exciting revolution that can help e- commerce apparel businesses of any size to grow,” said Vadim Rogovskiy, Founder and CEO, 3DLOOK.
