XIAOMI MI A2
Mi A2 from Xiaomi proudly stands as the only product in the company portfolio under Google’s Android One initiative running on untouched stock Android 8.1 promising timely updates. Embracing the 18:9 aspect ratio and larger 5.99” display means saying goodbye to the capacitive buttons of predecessor A1. However, the unfortunate exclusion of the headphone jack and microSD slot might leave some fuming although a Type-C USB to 3.5mm dongle is included. At least the processor has received a much-needed upgrade to Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 so performance should not be an issue when paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The camera implementation has also changed as there is a
12MP+20MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/1.75 aperture and larger pixel size. The front 20MP camera should make good use of the Sony IMX376 sensor. Finally, the overall slim profile has lead to a relatively modest
3010mAh battery and a jutting out camera module.
T3 Says: The Mi A2 is very intriguing but there are concessions made that everyone might not be able to digest.
