Belkin Boost Up
Wireless Charger designed for iPhones
Belkin has been making wireless chargers for quite some time but this is one of the first instances where we see a wireless charger made for iPhones. The Belkin The Boost Up is sleek compared to other wireless chargers and features an all-white design, complementing iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X’s clean design. There’s an LED status indicator and even a rubber ring on the top to make the device stay in its place while charging.
All you need to use the Boost Up is to connect the accessory to an AC socket and place the device on top, iPhone will automatically detect the wireless charger and start charging. It can even charge devices with cases so you don’t have to remove it every time
you want to charge.
Belkin claims the charger can charge up to 7.5W and in our test, we found the speed to be marginally faster than using the stock 5W charger.
Boost Up uses the Qi standard, which means any smartphone supporting Qi can be used to charge. Moreover, it also comes with a connected equipment warranty, a kind of insurance where Belkin will pay if something happens to the accessory and the device being charged.
The accessory is priced at `6,999, which we feel is steep and while it offers the convenience of charging the phone wirelessly, it does at a speed that is slightly better than a regular charger.
