iRobot Roomba 671
The connected robot vacuum cleaner
Joining iRobot’s thin crew in India is Roomba 671. The new Roomba robot vacuum cleaner borrows the same design as its predecessors but now adds features that are generally a part of its top-end range.
The disk-shaped vacuum cleaning robot has an aesthetically pleasing design and is just 9.2 cm tall, enabling the device to clean seldom reached areas like below-couch and under-bed regions. The Roomba 671 features a few buttons on the top with an easy-to-open and clean the dustbin door. It is accompanied with a home base cradle that acts as a charger for the vacuum cleaner. The Roomba 671 works by simply tapping the Clean button or with the mobile app since the vacuum cleaner also comes with built-in Wi-Fi. The vacuum cleaner adopts a three-stage cleaning system and intelligently identifies high-footfall areas while the AeroVac filter also helps pick up dirt beside dust, mites, and allergens. The Roomba 671 worked fine in our brief use and while it proves beneficial when cleaning under the furniture, we noticed it takes some time for the cleaner to figure out the exit path if something blocks its way. However, it smartly retraces back its route if we command it to return to the home base. Speaking of commands, you can schedule Roomba 671 to clean every day or on a particular day and time and also supports commands via Amazon Alexa.
In terms of iRobot’s hierarchy, Roomba 671 is the second cheapest vacuum cleaner you can purchase from them and despite its relatively affordable price tag, the new Roomba cleans well and is packed with smart features.
