Excellent and truthful! Do really appreciate your piece. A bit late to remedy things – but we have to start somewhere.

A good investigative story that needs to be told. People ought to know that our precious forests are being plundered by these so-called mafia of the rich and politicians, in connivance with the forest department. The only hope seems to lie with the Supreme Court. I hope your story will bring this important issue to their notice. It makes us sad to see that this paradise is being ravaged.

Great investigation, Jay. I think this story is being repeated across many national parks in the country.

Corbett is one of my favourite reserves. I have spent many, many memorable days there. Sad to see it is being converted into an island. Vehicles killing animals on the roads around it, poaching by the elite tourists at night and regular harvesting by the poachers will slowly eat away the glory of the reserve.

Thanks for your article on the Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is against science that tigers are in high density in such highly disturbed areas.

Read the report with interest. The problem is widespread. I can vouch for it myself. Around two years ago, while in Bengaluru, I was told not to waste my time looking for land near Ooty. “Corbett ke ekdum adjoining mein mil jayega” was the advice. The right way of tackling this would be to creat the Terai Arc conservation belt, linking the entire region up to the protected areas in Nepal, instead of struggling to just retain Corbett. That would make it one of the world’s finest wild places. Unfortunately though, I don’t think we’ll ever live to see it.

Really saddening story! This sounds like a proper Bollywood plot becoming real. But as is usually the case, I am sure your story will have a real and positive impact.

It was really amazing to read the news on TEHELKA. Just wanted to tell you that if there is anything I could do to make your news turn into a revolution, getting the law to work, please let me know. I will also be following up on the advancements as and when they become news.
