VIRAT SINGH on ART

Tehelka - - MASTER TAKES -

Rajeev Semwal’s paintings are unique, done mainly in pen ink. Like many other artists, his work primarily focusses on the beauty of nature and its elements. But Semwal’s vision is broader. Animals and birds have always played an important role in Indian mythology and he plays around with the imagery well. Another theme he works around is that of a mother’s love for her child, an emotion he equates with nature’s love for us. Black is a colour that fascinates this experimental artist who plays with several forms, structures and compositions. The flow is excellent and the end result is art you sit back and take note of.
