Delhi-based S Harsha Vardhana’s works are replete with abstract signs. They have a syntax of their own through which they traverse time, space and form. Influenced by tribal art, he paints in an old school abstract style. Though full of geometrical signs, especially the inverted triangle, his works have no inherent symbolism of their own. Neither are they titled. The artist has left them open to the interpretation of the audience. He pushes his viewers to reach their own understanding of his works through a visual dialogue, rather than just understanding what they mean to him.
