The crowning glory diaries

- AGE CORRESPONDENT — As told by Dr Chytra V Anand

Trichologists and Dermatologists across the globe are excited about using Vampire Hair Rejuvenation to enable better hair growth and structure. It is a non- chemical and non- invasive procedure; four to six sessions on a monthly basis are performed at the start to rejuvenate the hair and trigger growth factor stimulation in the scalp. Now people with average hair, that looks dull, tired, can undergo the procedure and in these sessions are able to get longer, thicker and shinier hair. The blood is drawn, the plasma and platelet cells are separated, this is then mixed with nutrients like vitamins, plant derived growth factors or stem cells and protein. The mix is then injected into the scalp using very tiny painless micro needles to deliver the serum to the hair roots. Following this there maybe a roller or a fractional laser that is used on the scalp to stimulate circulation in this area to enhance the serum absorption. The serum is a mix of growth factors, nutrients, hair nourishers and activators that are required on a daily basis for to maintain the hair texture, quantity and growth. The serum is customised to each person based on the hair analysis. Extreme styling done using hair colour, straightening, and constant heat treatments over time causes accumulated damage to the hair, making it thin, brittle and frizzy. It can also lead to hair fall and permanent baldness. The thinner the hair, the better this procedure works. It is a lunchtime, walk in walk out procedure with no downtime.
