Your heart is the core of your being, which constantly deals with good, bad and the ugly. It needs to be energised in order to give its best to you

If our heart chakra isn’t balanced, we can become self- centered and defensive

In the words of Jackson Brown, “Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.” Heart is defined in three ways — the physical heart, the emotional heart and the spiritual heart. Everyone has a heart, but the capability and the capacity of that heart varies. You are happy when you have energy in your heart, but when this energy goes low you start feeling nostalgic, fearful and uncaring and, at times, become rude and defensive. Words, actions, old pains, grief — in fact every action and expression — work on your heart’s energy levels, and either pull it up or deplete it completely. Energising and working on your heart on daily basis increases the capacity for your heart to hold more and see and feel things with a better and clearer view.

BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

Heart meditation relieves physical and mental stress, helps you sleep well, calms your body and balances all the chakras of the body, increases your retention power and memory, increases your creativity, solving problems become easier, increases awareness in day to day life, reduces negative emotions, helps in removing past life burdens, you interact better with people with more compassion, feel happier and joyful, helps in brightenin­g your face and facial muscles, it opens your heart and lets new good people enter your life, lets go of all emotional baggage no matter if it’s big or small, helps in forgiving ourselves and others.

HEART CHAKRA

It’s the midpoint of our physical body and lies at a mid place where the above three chakras are linked to the spiritual us and the lower three to the physical being. Heart chakra being the most important should be bright and enlarged always so that all the other six are well balanced. Heart chakra is also the spiritual us. Every thought, word, our deeds, acceptance, love — all reside at the heart chakra. If our heart chakra is not balanced, we can become very self- centered and defensive or extremely emotional

MEDITATION THROUGH THE HEART

During or after the meditation you might feel very heavy or extremely light or you may want to laugh or cry, it’s all ok and is a sign of all the negativiti­es being removed from your heart and your physical body and that you are allowing new light to take in space in your heart Find a quiet place where you won’t be distracted for the next 15- 20 minutes. Sit down and relax, don’t tense any body part. Keep both your palms on your lap with your fingers facing towards the sky. Close your eyes, relax and smile. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly, feel your body become more relaxed with each breath. While breathing out exhale all your negative thoughts and tension from your body. Now place one of your palms on your heart chakra or your chest, just smile while placing your palms on your heart. Enjoy and feel the calmness of your heart and all your emotions being purified. Imagine a bright white illuminati­ng divine light is entering your heart through your head sent by God. This bright white light is filling your heart and turning all the negative thoughts to positive ones. You feel lighter and brighter with every breath. Now think about all the negative things — like being angry — to be taken away by this white light and filling you with gratitude, your arrogance being changed to gratitude, selfishnes­s changed to gratitude, jealously being replaced with gratitude, think about the people who have hurt you in the past, forgive them by sending them this heart white light, spread this light to your friends who give you joy, to your parents who have given birth to you as without them you would not be alive, send this light to your family for always being a support to you.

Observe your breath for a few seconds and now let go of all the negative emotions against people and situations that have hurt you. Now think about all the mistakes you have made and ask this white light to forgive you from your heart. Now say “Thank You” for opening your heart and moving and directing your heart to make you a better person and filling your heart with all the love, compassion and blessings from the almighty. You’ll feel calmer.

Now slowly feel this white light diminishin­g and going back to God. Now, picture a light pink light all around you as if it’s a light shielding and protecting you. Gradually open your eyes. Take two three deep breaths. And say THANK YOU God!
